RSM professionals celebrate "Pi" day
It’s March 14 and that means it’s Pi Day! “What’s Pi Day?” you might ask? It’s an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π. And since we here at RSM love numbers (quite a few of us are accountants, after all), we think the day is worth celebrating.
Since it began, Pi Day has been observed in many ways, including by discussing the significance of the number π (a circle’s circumference divided by its diameter), eating pie and throwing pies, thanks to a pun based on the words "pi" and "pie."
Throwing pies happens to be one of our favorite activities at RSM – especially when we’re raising funds for charity. Each year, RSM raises funds through our Birdies Fore Love program to raise funds for nonprofit organizations focused on enhancing educational outcomes and the quality of life for children and families. One popular way to raise funds is to host pie-in-the-face challenges. Throwing pies at our leaders while raising money for local charities makes this an unforgettable tradition at many of our offices across the country.
So what are you waiting for? It’s Pi Day. Don’t miss your chance to grab your piece of pie (or toss one to a friend)!
