Recruiting RSM careers

My name is Avinash Kasat, and I’m an associate director of tech delivery for RSM US-India (USI), based in the Hyderabad office. In addition to holding my current role, I’ve enthusiastically agreed to lead our volunteer efforts to align with and support our global Power of Love campaign. I’ve always believed in the power of collective effort to foster positive change and transformation, finding inspiration in the words of American writer Helen Keller: “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

That simple statement is spot on, and at RSM USI and throughout the RSM family we’re leveraging our Power of Love and RSM US Foundation’s Dollars for Doers initiatives to make a real and lasting difference in the markets we serve.

First, I’d like to share background about our efforts here in India. When RSM USI launched, we had fewer personnel and relatively low enthusiasm for volunteer activity. However, as our head count increased, our leadership team wanted to go all in on volunteerism to support the RSM US Foundation’s program and initiatives. When I learned about the foundation’s philanthropic efforts, and the opportunities they presented, I immediately signed up, and started discussing with people how we could make a difference.

With support from my peers and leadership in both the U.S. and India, we’ve now completed two consecutive years of Volunteer Day. Both years it was a tremendous success, and more than 1,600 RSM USI professionals joined in our efforts. It was quite empowering to serve local communities in addition to serving our clients.

Our impact to date

In the past two years, we’ve accomplished a lot—thanks, in part, to the leadership and support of Prasad Balakrishnan, a principal at RSM US LLP who focuses on international strategy and client services. Our people have spent time volunteering, both virtually and in person, to support Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini, a project that provides digital resources to help close educational gaps that persist in India. We also support and fund the United Way of Hyderabad, an organization dedicated to addressing inequities in health care, education and economic mobility.

As a result of these efforts, I’m proud to share that we’ve exceeded expectations, with a total of 13,000 volunteer hours logged and US$200,000 raised in a mere two years via the Dollars for Doers program in support of United Way and Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini, an RSM US Foundation record!
