We’re proud to have military service members as a part of our RSM family and a network that encourages the recruitment, retention and success of veterans, service members and their families. RSM professional Louis Hernandez has more than 20 years of military experience and currently serves as a sergeant in addition to his office services role in our McLean, Virginia, office.

Louis’ military career began when he reported to the Baltimore Air National Guard on Sept. 11, 2001. Recently, he was activated as a member of the D.C. Air National Guard, and his unit's current mission is to support and assist U.S. Marshals and district police as back up if necessary.

"One of the most surreal memories for me as a member of the Air National Guard was standing guard in front of the Washington Monument for 18 hours with both FBI and the U.S. Marshals while protests were occurring," said Louis. "Even though we never imagined these experiences to happen in our country, the work we do is rewarding, and I am extremely proud of our efforts to protect and defend our people and the Constitution."

At RSM, Louis has been an active member of our VALOR employee network group, which provides many resources to support the development of these individuals while leveraging their diverse skill sets to serve our clients.

"Ever since I joined the firm in 2003, RSM has been extremely supportive and understanding of my military responsibilities," said Louis. "They understand that I have two missions: to support the firm and to fulfill my military commitment."
