Crystal Scott is a practice operations manager in national consulting and a dedicated leader, advocate and community volunteer. She lives in Palo, Iowa, with her husband, Nick, and their two children, Bella and Reid.
As a working mother, Crystal is deeply involved in her children's lives, spending much of her time supporting their activities, including baseball, softball, football, track, basketball and wrestling. Alongside her husband, who coaches several youth teams, Crystal supports local youth sports programs through advertising and promotional efforts that help create opportunities for young athletes in her community.
Crystal's commitment to helping others extends well beyond her family. After losing a close friend to cancer, she helped establish a nonprofit organization that supports families navigating their own cancer journeys. Through fundraising efforts, including a golf tournament held in memory of her friend, Crystal and her family have helped raise significant support for individuals and families facing cancer-related challenges.
She and her family also foster dogs, teaching their children compassion, responsibility and the importance of service while giving back to their community.
One of Crystal's most important roles is being an advocate for her son, Reid. As he navigates behavioral challenges, she works tirelessly with educators, medical professionals and support systems to help him succeed.
At RSM, Crystal is known for her empathy, reliability and willingness to support others. As co-champion of the Abilities employee network group in Cedar Rapids, she has helped drive awareness initiatives that provide resources and foster a sense of belonging for employees and families across the firm. Colleagues describe her as a trusted mentor whose encouragement and leadership demonstrate that professional success and family commitment can go hand in hand.
Crystal’s story reflects the strength and compassion working mothers bring to their families, communities and RSM every day, and she embodies the spirit of RSM’s Working Mother of the Year recognition.
