Designing the heart of the story

Meet Tracy Jones, a visual strategy designer at RSM. An artist since high school, Tracy brought his skating and surfboard graphic creator dream to his personal and professional pursuits as an adult, bringing together his creativity and desire to connect with others in his work.

One very late night back in July of 2020 while working on a painting, I had an idea to bring a little joy to my neighborhood since everyone was stuck inside during the pandemic. I cut a stencil of a heart in my studio and got busy painting. In addition to showing up all around my neighborhood, these hearts have now taken on several iterations of their own. 

To date, I have created thirteen unique heart paintings and even opened an Etsy shop selling merchandise showcasing the hearts. All thirteen of these paintings are now in private collections across the U.S. from Venice, CA, to New York, NY. The hearts even made an appearance in my “Power of Being You” videos, which was an incredible opportunity!

Most recently, after three and a half months of late nights, I finished a three-foot-by-three-foot painting that now hangs in the lobby on the 34th floor of the RSM Chicago office. This is another opportunity that I am incredibly grateful for, and I never imagined that the hearts would have taken me down so many different roads!

As a student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, our professors would take us on tours of the private collections that were in the buildings of the Chicago loop. I told myself, "One day you will have a painting in one of those private collections." That dream just became a reality!
