Federal tax policy changes are coming. Are you ready?

Tax policy spotlight for middle market tax professionals

While it’s unlikely significant federal tax legislation will emerge in the near term, new rules from the U.S. Treasury stemming from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act are progressing and are expected to affect middle market companies.

Activity in recent weeks focused on opportunity zones, state and local tax deduction and the so-called retail glitch. Given Treasury's goal of providing additional guidance before Fall 2020, we expect changes to come out very frequently.

RSM’s public affairs leader Dan Ginsburg moderates a conversation with Jim Alex, RSM’s tax national go-to-market leader, and Matt Talcoff, RSM partner and national tax industry leader, about the policy changes under discussion and their potential effect on the middle market.
