Technology meets well-being: How health apps helped an RSM employee
RSM has continued to invest in mobile health platforms to support our people and their families and ensure everyone has access to care anywhere, anytime. Catherine Chenoweth, senior administrator in Minneapolis, shares how two of our recently launched mobile health platforms are enhancing her and her family’s overall well-being.
In March, my family and I went on vacation to Gulf Shores, AL and found ourselves in a challenging situation amid the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite copious amounts of hand washing and sanitizing, all three of my kids got sick with different common childhood ailments, and I was worried about the safety of entering any medical office.
Instead of spending hours in a crowded urgent care, hogging precious time and resources, I was able to use RSM’s 98point6 telehealth app to video chat with some of the most skilled pediatricians I have ever encountered. The 98point6 doctors and their excellent care allowed us to return to our family time with hardly a second thought.
During the pandemic, RSM provided 98point6 to all employees, regardless of if they were on RSM’s health plan. It’s encouraging to know that my family, as well as the families of my colleagues, can get text-based diagnosis, treatment and prescriptions in the safety of their homes.
Because of my success using 98point6, I was excited when RSM launched another mobile health platform in November—Modern Health. This well-being app provides free mental health, coaching and counseling resources. Recognizing the importance of always creating healthy habits, I didn’t hesitate to check out Modern Health right away.
After taking a quick personal assessment in the app, I was able to choose the care I wanted from an abundance of personalized options. I matched with a licensed nutritionist, who met with me virtually and helped me set healthy goals for the holidays. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with her and exploring Modern Health’s other resources and care options as my needs change.
I am so grateful for these mobile health platforms and all of the resources RSM provides to show their care for their employees. I’m reassured knowing that my family and I will have the support we need to stay healthy and safe now and in the future.
