RSM’s Inaugural Campus Automation Challenge

In an unprecedented year due to the pandemic, we wanted to develop a meaningful virtual experience for future new hires. With the goal of connecting college students to our consulting leadership team and creating a unique learning environment, a new program was created: RSM Campus Automation Challenge.

Our Campus Automation Challenge welcomed college sophomores across the nation to work in teams with RSM coaches to compete in building a bot that automates an everyday business process.  Participants completed courses in Automation Anywhere’s online university program that provided exposure to robotic process automation and artificial intelligence.

“My favorite part of the automation challenge was learning a new skill that will be helpful for me in the long run.” – Justin, automation challenge participant. “The main thing I got out of the challenge was the ability to make lasting connections with the people in my group as well as RSM employees.”

For most students enrolled in the challenge, this was their first opportunity to participate in a challenge using robotic process automation. Participants engaged in one-on-one conversations with culture coaches to learn more about the daily life of a consultant at our firm and to learn about the variety of opportunities a career in consulting can provide. Our inaugural Campus Automation Challenge provided college sophomores leadership experience, gave them a chance to develop a new skill set, and allowed them to make connections with fellow students and RSM professionals who will help them to build their future career and beyond.
