Empowering persons with disabilities
The International Day of Disabled Persons was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly, with the goal of promoting the rights and wellbeing of persons with disabilities, and to increase awareness the uniqueness of life for those with disabilities. This goal aligns well with those of RSM’s Abilities employee network group, which strives to foster an environment that supports professionals with disabilities and those with spouses or children with special needs.
This year’s International Day of Disabled Persons theme is “Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality,” as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which pledges to “leave no one behind.” RSM supports clients that are part of an ecosystem of companies that employ, support and enable the inclusion and rights of those with disabilities. We walk arm in arm with our clients and people with disabilities on the road to inclusion by embodying those principles within RSM.
