RSM US LLP National TMT Industry Appoints New Leaders for Media and Entertainment, Telecommunications Sectors
CHICAGO – (July 17, 2023) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – has named Victor Kao and Brendan Joosten to new leadership roles within the firm’s national technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) practice. Kao is the firm’s new national media and entertainment sector leader, and Joosten is the firm’s new national telecommunications sector leader.

Kao, a risk consulting partner and an inaugural member of RSM’s Industry Eminence Program, has more than 20 years of experience serving clients in the media and entertainment sector. He also spearheaded the development of a team at RSM dedicated to serving video gaming and esports companies as part of the firm’s national media and entertainment sector.
“I’ve always had a passion for working within media and entertainment, and it’s such an honor to now take the helm of this growing team of talented individuals who share that same passion,” said Kao. “Together we’ll build on our many accomplishments and continue to grow the firm’s capabilities within the digital entertainment space and bring innovative solutions to meet new and rapidly changing client needs brought on by emerging tech in recent years.”
Joosten is an audit partner who has spent his 15-year career primarily focused on public and private equity-backed TMT companies, specifically in the telecommunications sector, providing both audit and advisory services.

Kao and Joosten’s new roles were effective May 1, 2023.
