RSM Selects Four Representatives for CEO Action for Racial Equity Fellowship Program

CHICAGO – (September 12, 2022) – RSM US LLP ("RSM") – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that it has selected four individuals to represent RSM in CEO Action for Racial Equity, a fellowship program by CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion™ (CEO Action). This is the second class of professionals RSM has selected for this important work.

RSM’s four representatives will work with fellows from other firms to identify, develop and promote scalable and sustainable public policies and corporate engagement strategies that will advance racial equity and improve societal wellbeing. Like the first class of fellows, this class will focus their efforts on relevant societal issues in the areas of education, health care, economic empowerment, public safety and other relevant issues.

The following representatives were selected based on an extensive list of criteria, including their professional and personal attributes that support the goals of the fellowship; their ability to build trusting relationships and to be authentic and inclusive leaders; and their participation as active members of one or more of RSM’s employee network groups (ENGs):

  • Alejandra Alanis – consulting manager; Los Angeles
  • Bea Gatebuke – consulting supervisor; Nashville
  • Erin Berry – consulting supervisor; Charlotte
  • Taylor Desy – audit supervisor; Philadelphia

“Alejandra, Bea, Erin and Taylor share our firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, and are focused on helping implement positive societal changes,”  said Brian Becker, managing partner & CEO of RSM US LLP. “On behalf of our entire leadership team, I’d like to thank them for their courage in stepping into these important roles and their caring and commitment to creating a brighter future for all. We’re looking forward to hearing great things regarding their work as CEO Action fellows.”

RSM people from across the firm who were interested in the fellowship program were encouraged to express their interest by applying for consideration.

“As was the case during 2020 when the program launched, we had strong interest in the program again this year, which is a testament to our collective focus on advancing racial equity,” said Becker.

CEO Action was founded in 2017, and is now the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace. The coalition brings together more than 2,000 CEOs who have pledged to:

  • support open dialogue around DEI,
  • implement and expand unconscious bias education and training,
  • share best practices and lessons learned, and
  • engage boards of directors when developing and evaluating DEI strategies.
