CHICAGO – (May 3, 2022) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that Joel Perez, partner of audit services, was recently elected as vice-chair of the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) Board of Directors.

ALPFA was the first national Latino men and women professional association in the United States. Its mission is to empower and develop Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation, in every sector of the global economy. The organization is governed by a CEO and an elected board of directors consisting of officers and directors at large. Those selected to serve on ALPFA’s national board exhibit passion, determination and dedication in planning for the association’s promising future.

Joel Perez was first elected to ALPFA’s 2020 national board, and this year was appointed as board vice-chair.

“Joel has been an instrumental part of our firm’s success as a fellow partner and as a Latino leader,” said Carlos Hernandez, RSM US partner, and national ¡HOLA! employee network group (ENG) leader. “RSM continues to partner with ALPFA to foster an environment that will provide our Hispanic and Latino/Latina people the ability to thrive and succeed. We are thankful for Joel and his leadership, and congratulate him on being elected as vice-chair of ALPFA’s Board of Directors.”

"After being nominated to join the ALPFA’s National Board of Directors in early 2020, I now have the opportunity to serve as vice-chair, an opportunity I don’t take lightly,” said Perez. “This commitment comes with great responsibility, but the opportunity to make an impact is even greater. I hope to leverage this role by promoting the Latino/Latina professional talent that makes up ALPFA’s membership across the country, and to  facilitate RSM’s ¡HOLA! ENG efforts to increase diverse hiring for RSM."
