The clock is ticking to line up UKG Workforce Central end-of-life support

Make legacy UKG Workforce Central migration a priority

Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG), the company formed from the merger of Ultimate Software and Kronos—and a leading provider of human capital management, payroll and workforce management solutions—will soon discontinue support for UKG Workforce Central (UKG WFC), their legacy Kronos workforce management solution. Companies that currently use UKG WFC must start evaluating new technology strategies, and UKG Pro Workforce Management (UKG Pro WFM) provides an effective migration path.

The decision to end support was first announced in October 2022, but here is what you need to know about the specific timeline:

  • Workforce Central (Kronos Private Cloud) end of life – Dec. 31, 2025
  • Workforce Central on-premises end of engineering – Dec. 31, 2025
  • Workforce Central on-premises end of life – March 31, 2027

With UKG WFC being phased out, UKG Pro WFM is a logical replacement, with powerful time and attendance, absence management, scheduling, forecasting, labor activity and analytics modules.

An opportunity for workforce management improvement

While many companies will simply “lift and shift” by transitioning from UKG WFC to UKG Pro WFM, forward-thinking companies will use this as an opportunity for transformation and reimagine the future state of their workforce management policies, processes and technology. Some companies will also revisit the vendor marketplace to identify and select their future workforce management solution.

The importance of UKG WFC end-of-life support

The planning process to select and implement a new workforce management solution should start sooner rather than later to avoid a hurried transition that may create risks and challenge successful adoption. Working with an experienced advisor with a proven migration approach can ease common concerns related to moving to a new environment and provide guidance for the critical decisions that will shape your workforce management technology approach for years to come.
