RSM Celebrates MLK Day

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” Today, the U.S. honors the man who posed this question and continues as one of our country’s greatest servant leaders, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
In 1983, U.S. legislation created a federal holiday marking the birthday of Dr. King. Eleven years later, Congress identified Martin Luther King Jr. Day as our only national day of service. The MLK Day of Service empowers, strengthens and bridges individuals and communities.
Through RSM's Culture, Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) program, our firm fosters cultural inclusion by living out our core values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence and stewardship. Each of these core values honors Dr. King.
Through RSM’s African American Community of Excellence (AACE) employee network group (ENG) and our 10 other ENGs, our firm fosters greater connectivity within our people, establishing an avenue for our people to expand their centers of influence and ensuring diversity in thought. RSM’s AACE ENG has developed several programs over the past four years, such as:
- National mentoring program for associates through directors,
- Firm-wide day of service to celebrate Dr. King by serving the greater community,
- Supporting the talent acquisition team through delivering programs on college campuses at our focus schools, and
- #LunchBag, AACE’s hallmark event, where members make and hand deliver meals to local homeless shelters in the 90 cities where our employees live and work.
We encourage you to join RSM’s AACE ENG and all of our CDI members in remembering, honoring and celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today by showing an extra act of service in your community.
AACE nurtures an environment that supports RSM’s African American and black professionals in their pursuit of professional excellence.
