Rob Stoettner is an assurance partner and the national audit leader for the private equity and family office service lines for RSM US LLP. He is also the regional leader for the Great Lakes private equity practice and the Schaumburg, Illinois, office leader, as well as a former member of the RSM board of directors.
Rob has more than 30 years of experience with RSM providing audit and accounting services to clients in various industries. He primarily works with portfolio companies of private equity firms and concentrates on financial statement audits, including focused specialties with private equity-owned companies and companies with international operations; the application of business combination accounting; and engagement quality reviews of quarterly and annual filings for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for reporting companies.
Rob holds himself to a high standard and leads by example by staying accountable to his clients, his team and the firm—and he strives to offer the greatest client experience possible. As an office and market leader, he spends much of his time driving a culture aligned with RSM standards. As a career advisor, he is passionate about helping develop RSM professionals into future leaders and owners of the firm. He also serves as the Great Lakes regional leader for recruiting accounting students from his alma mater, Northern Illinois University.
Rob is involved with the firm’s culture, diversity and inclusion efforts as a member of VALOR, RSM’s employee network group aimed at encouraging the success of veterans and military service members.
