CHICAGO – (April 19, 2022) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) recently named Nelly Montoya, management consulting director and financial services senior analyst, and Crystal Sunbury, audit senior manager and real estate senior analyst, to its inaugural Latinas to Watch list.
ALPFA, the country’s largest Latino professional association, highlights the most powerful and influential Latina trailblazers in business, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement, while empowering and encouraging the next generation of Latina leaders to reach their full potential.
In 2021, the organization added to the ways that it empowers Latina leaders by creating the inaugural Latinas to Watch list – a list of 50 women who are recognized for their service to ALPFA and their community. The list is comprised of senior-level Latinas with significant professional experience who are on track to becoming the Most Powerful Latinas (MPLs) and influence and impact many through their service and commitment to elevating others. Montoya and Sunbury were recognized during the Most Powerful Latinas (MPL) 2021 Summit.
“Nelly and Crystal exemplify leadership every day, and we are thrilled that ALPFA has recognized them as Latinas to Watch,” said Carlos Hernandez, RSM US partner, and national ¡HOLA! employee network group (ENG) leader. “They are dedicated, lead by example and always strive for excellence. Both joined RSM early on in their careers and it has been a true pleasure to see them grow into the leaders they are today. On behalf of RSM’s people across the U.S. and Canada, we are honored to congratulate Nelly and Crystal on this well-deserved recognition.”
“What an honor to be included in this inaugural group of such inspiring and accomplished Latinas,” said Montoya. “As a Mexican immigrant, my career journey has not always been easy to navigate. But at RSM, I’ve been supported by phenomenal mentors and sponsors who celebrate my rich cultural background and are fierce advocates of all my endeavors. This national recognition serves as validation and a reminder to keep growing and bringing my whole self into each interaction with my colleagues, clients and community.”
“It is an honor to be recognized among this impressive group of Latina leaders,” said Sunbury. “Being part of this inaugural list is a humbling reminder of the impact that, as individuals, we have to influence others, and it inspires me to continue serving my clients and community with excellence.”
ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals For America) was the first national Latino professional association in the U.S., established in Los Angeles in 1972.
