Health care’s new reality, the theme of this year’s event, calls for organizations to harness rapid change to build a model of the future while sustaining performance today.
Have you registered for RSM US LLP’s Virtual Health Care Day? What are you waiting for? The Sept. 28 event is one not to miss. Up to 11 hours of CPE will be available.
The event will feature insights from keynote panelists Dennis Dahlen, chief financial officer at Mayo Clinic, and Pat Keel, CFO/chief administrative officer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, plus a middle market economic briefing from RSM’s chief economist Joe Brusuelas. With informative sessions covering generative artificial intelligence, data analytics, patient experience, margin improvement, cybersecurity, and more, there’s much to absorb in this day-long event of live panel discussions and on-demand webcasts.
We sat down with Carlos Hernandez, RSM’s health care practice leader and the event’s keynote panel moderator, to learn more about Virtual Health Care Day’s background, what attendees will learn, and what he’s most excited about.
Three years ago, we were in the middle of the pandemic. Everyone was locked down and unable to attend conferences in person. However, we still wanted to reach out and offer our clients and contacts something that was relevant, and informative and provided CPE credits. We have some great thought leaders and professionals at RSM who could provide helpful insights on a variety of topics and trends affecting health care providers and organizations
We offered a live online event featuring a renowned epidemiologist that first year, along with recorded webcasts and live panel discussions, and, happily, we drew over 1,400 registrants. And I’m thrilled to say we’ve continued to grow. Last year 1,895 registered for the event, including attendees from 12 countries. Each year builds on the next. We’ve found there’s a thirst for this type of training, and we’ve accepted the responsibility to provide ideas and relevant discussion to our many health care professionals.
First, I’m so excited to be facilitating an in-depth conversation with our two distinguished keynote panelists Dennis Dahlen of Mayo Clinic, and Pat Keel of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I’ll be talking to them about how they’re navigating health care’s new reality and getting their great insights on the overall health care landscape. In addition, we are going to bring back what has been one of our highest-rated sessions: an economic update from our very own chief economist, Joe Brusuelas. His economic update will have portions that are once again specific to the health care industry. We’ll be providing some great webcasts as well on a variety of topics, including accounting and tax updates, cybersecurity, margin improvement, and more. Later in the day, we’ll once again finish with two live panel discussions. It will be a full day of learning, idea sharing, and relevance, all with the ability for attendees to earn CPE credits.
Right now, hospitals and health systems are challenged with the new reality of delivering health care to their communities.
Impacts of inflationary costs of labor and resources, supply chain disruption, changing reimbursements, and staffing shortages have accelerated the demand for transformation for providers and other health care organizations.
This new reality requires health care organizations to be digitally connected, efficient, and consumer-centric. Health care organizations must harness rapid change to build a model of the future, all while sustaining and improving financial and operational performance today. It’s critical for health care providers to understand and navigate this new reality to grow and provide quality care. We’ll be talking about this theme throughout Virtual Health Care Day.
I couldn't be more thankful and excited to have our two keynote panelists on our virtual stage sharing their thoughts and experiences. I am looking forward to asking them how they are navigating this new reality in health care in their own health systems. The new reality is a convergence of financial challenges and technological advancements, so it will be interesting to get our panelists’ perspectives. In addition, in our live panel discussions at the end of the day, we’ll be hearing from some of our clients on the merging of margin improvement and technological advances. It’s always so enlightening to hear from them on issues and trends, how they’re leveraging technology, and more.
