As a senior analyst in RSM’s cutting-edge industry eminence program, Steve works alongside the firm’s chief economist and other industry eminence participants to analyze trends and themes affecting the life sciences industry and shaping middle market businesses. He is passionate about life sciences and the opportunity to help companies whose innovations and technologies make people’s lives better. He specializes in helping companies navigate change and serves as a steady guide through high-stakes, high-impact client projects. His research includes studies around racial disparity in clinical trials to help advance inclusion efforts that make clinical trials more reflective of patient populations.
Steve studies larger life sciences clients to understand how they operate and their tools for success. He transfers that knowledge to his clients who are in startup mode to help devise a road map of appropriate investments and success milestones. He empowers his team to gain deep industry knowledge, with the goal of developing talent and building the next generation of RSM client servers and firm leaders.
As a principal in RSM’s technology consulting practice, Steve focuses on helping public and private biopharma companies maximize their technology investments. A computer engineer by training, Steve pivoted into life sciences at the outset of his career. He retains his strong understanding of technology and applies that in his role as the firm’s national NetSuite life sciences leader, guiding a team focused on NetSuite implementations. His team assists companies going through an initial public offering or bringing new drugs or devices to market by helping them transition their systems and manage their accounting. Prior to joining RSM, Steve held technical and finance roles for a medical technology company and a global health technology provider, where he hired RSM to implement NetSuite. He decided to join RSM shortly thereafter.
Steve has a young son with his wife, who is a gothic romance novelist. He volunteers with the Collective Success Network, an organization designed to help first-generation college students like himself achieve their academic and career aspirations. An avid cyclist, Steve has completed many long-distance bike tours, including riding the Great Allegheny Passage and the C&O Canal trail from Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C.
