Our Generations (GEN) employee network group (ENG) fosters a culture of respect and understanding among multiple generations across our firm, our clients and our communities. GEN provides enrichment through connections across all experience levels and lines of business. From the newest Generation Zer to the most seasoned partner, GEN members have opportunities for development, education and business community outreach.
This group acts as a sounding board around strategic inclusion objectives to help foster a respectful, inclusive work environment, regardless of age or experience level.
GEN strives to make an impact on the firm’s culture by promoting courageous conversations relating to generational differences, transitions and opportunities. GEN offers educational programs and activities that encourage open dialogue, leading to better understanding among the five generations currently in the RSM workforce. GEN also amplifies the important role mentorship plays in the RSM talent experience every January, during National Mentoring Month. Through this annual program, GEN promotes the importance of recognizing our internal RSM mentors, offers mentor skills training workshops, and highlights leading practices and techniques that elevate the impact of mentoring across the firm. Through mentoring, coaching and shadowing, members support one another by sharing knowledge, experiences, skills and resources.
As a result, our people at all levels are better prepared to engage with their teams and act as first-choice advisors to their clients. GEN also plays a critical role in RSM’s partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. GEN manages the collaboration effort between RSM and Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Workforce Readiness program. This program is aimed at engaging GEN members in key markets across the country to work with youth at Boys & Girls Clubs of America to help them build and develop leadership skills and deepen their understanding of careers in business so they could succeed in life after high school.
