Recruiting RSM careers

The RSM US Foundation awards talented and promising accounting, business and technology students annually. We are honored to support students across the U.S. in alleviating the financial burden of funding their education so they may focus on achieving their goals—in school and beyond.

I am currently a junior at Bentley University; however, my undergraduate educational journey began when I was 18, at the University of Massachusetts. I studied at UMass for three years but wasn’t sure what I wanted to do or be. I left school and joined the workforce. I was blessed to meet my now-fiancée during this time and welcome our beautiful daughter together. My daughter gave me a new perspective and motivation, so when the pandemic hit, and I found myself without a job, it was the push I needed to explore different opportunities.

The next step of my education was at Bunker Hill Community College, where one of my professors/mentors led me to accounting and Bentley University. I was raised by a strong single mother with limited means. My motivation is to give my daughter my mother’s strength, along with the resources she needs to achieve her dreams. My family has been so amazing. Being a nontraditional student isn’t easy, and they have surrounded me with the support I need.

The Power Your Transition scholarship helped with this semester particularly, as I was able to pay for books, supplies and other needs without having to use my credit card. I really appreciate the financial support the scholarship has given me; it has lifted some of the financial burden school can bring while providing for a family.

I am grateful to have attended an event at the local RSM Boston office that hosted students from Bunker Hill. This opportunity led me to not one but two internships with RSM, my first being extra special as I was the only intern from a community college. RSM is an amazing place; I am very excited to see what the future holds!
