He also works closely with the firm’s private equity, family office and corporate M&A teams, ensuring that they bring the firm’s full suite of services to every client, with the goal of value creation and preservation throughout the transaction life cycle.
Prior to his current role, Vikas led the M&A tax practice in the firm’s northeast region and served as the operations and strategy leader for the firm’s M&A tax practice. He is past chair of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants M&A tax committee.
Born and raised in India, Vikas is passionate about the international aspects of his work. He enjoys helping clients navigate the complexities of international transactions, which provide unique opportunities and challenges. He gained international experience in his first role as an auditor at a middle market firm in India before moving to a Big Four tax practice, where he worked on both domestic and international tax matters. This broad international experience helps Vikas understand other points of view and gives him a more diverse perspective when addressing client issues.
Vikas knows an M&A transaction is an important event in a company or fund’s life cycle, and he is energized by each deal. He finds the opportunity to build lifelong relationships with clients and colleagues extremely fulfilling. Knowing that people are RSM’s biggest asset, he uses his experience to nurture RSM talent and provide others the opportunity to maximize their strengths. In addition to serving as executive sponsor for the tri-state market of InspirAsian—RSM’s employee network group for support and guidance of Asian professionals—Vikas is also a member of the Family First and STAR employee network groups, which foster an inclusive and supportive culture for families and women at RSM. He is a fervent supporter of growth opportunities for women within and outside of RSM, specifically within the M&A space, which is lagging in gender diversity.
Vikas has been recognized for his contributions to M&A by many industry organizations and publications.
