Steve Kampa is a partner at RSM US LLP and serves as the tax leader of the firm’s Professional Services+ practice.

In his role at RSM, Steve builds a community of tax leadership teams around practice and risk management topics through understanding tax issues and trends facing the accounting industry and by facilitating collaboration of RSM’s global tax resources. His background involves a broad range of industries, including health care, publishing and retail.

Steve was the first national leader for RSM’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employee network group, Pride, which began in 2015. In this role, he championed LGBT inclusion in the retention and recruitment of employees and clients across the firm.

Prior to joining RSM in 2007, Steve was a tax manager in a large, nonprofit health care and supporting organization system. In his role, he was responsible for the organization’s tax accounting and compliance filings for both taxable and tax-exempt entities. Steve held a similar role at a large, multinational, publicly traded corporate retailer, where he was responsible for tax accounting and consolidated compliance reporting and filing, implementation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and maintenance of other internal controls.
