Shaun Nelson is a senior manager in the energy and excise tax credit practice at RSM US LLP. He advises clients on clean energy incentives, including those in the Inflation Reduction Act.
Shaun brings more than 17 years of experience in providing strategic and innovative tax consulting services. He has an extensive background in client services, including deep engagement with multiple credits and incentives and a demonstrated record of delivering results.
Prior to joining RSM, Shaun worked for a specialty tax consulting firm, where he concentrated on the research and development tax credit, sales and use tax, and energy incentives. As a director, he managed that firm's sales and use tax reviews, R&D tax credits, and new business development stemming from additional incentives.
Outside of work, he serves on the board of the Woodcrest Neighborhood Civic Association in Houston, volunteers with the Memorial Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, and serves as a volunteer for the Timbergrove Sports Association, where his oldest son plays Little League baseball.
