About Sara

Sara Webber Laczo is chief communications officer for RSM US LLP. She leads a team of high-performing communication professionals charged with developing and executing engaging, stakeholder-focused communications to support RSM's purpose to instill confidence in a world of change.


Experience

As chief communications officer, Sara is responsible for the firm's overall communications strategy, including internal communications, executive communications, public affairs, environmental, social and governance (ESG) communications, talent marketing and thought leadership. She drives RSM’s corporate reputation and business results while ensuring integration across all channels and stakeholder groups.

Sara has had over 15 years of progressive experience at RSM with responsibilities spanning from head of internal communications to leadership of RSM’s entire communications strategy. She has successfully led the firm through two separate brand launches in partnership with the firm’s chief marketing officer and has spearheaded communications on more than 30 mergers and acquisitions for the firm.

Sara’s leadership has created a positive and lasting influence in many areas of RSM. During her tenure, she has assisted in the development and communication of the firm’s vision, purpose, values and strategy; the creation of the firm’s corporate social responsibility and community engagement strategies, including the launch of the RSM US Foundation; and the creation of the firm’s environmental strategy. Sara is the executive sponsor of RSM’s Volunteer Day and was instrumental in the launch of RSM’s Birdies for Love giving platform and its corresponding mentoring program.

One of Sara’s greatest passions is creating leading insights for middle market businesses with her economics, eminence and editorial teams. She envisioned and founded the RSM US Middle Market Business Index in collaboration with RSM’s chief economist and research team. Sara’s team also publishes the firm’s monthly The Real Economy publication and serves as an executive sponsor of the firm’s innovative RSM Industry Eminence Program—a leadership development program designed to create the industry-focused digitally savvy leaders of tomorrow.

Motivated by the future vision of the firm, she is committed to doing great things for RSM’s people, clients, community and the middle market. She serves as a mentor within RSM to innovate new ways to communicate with and engage stakeholders. Her team leads the firm’s culture, diversity, and inclusion (CDI) communications, and she is an active member of all of RSM’s employee network groups that bring together people with diverse experiences and similar interests. She is a member of the CEO task force for racial understanding, chair of the firm’s social issues task force, executive sponsor for RSM’s CEO Action for Racial Equity fellows and co-executive sponsor of the firm’s environmental advisory board. 

Known for her ability to integrate work, home and professional pursuits, Sara is the mother of two active children. If she weren’t creating communication strategies for RSM, she would be in a Zen state of mind jogging the trails near her home or relaxing in a local yoga studio.
