About Mike

Mike Courtney is a principal and the national leader for technology and digital solutions within the management consulting practice at RSM US LLP. Mike and his team help clients develop leading-edge technology solutions to enable their business strategies. He provides executive advisory services in digital strategy, technology strategy, intelligent automation and artificial intelligence solutions. These solutions involve a wide range of technologies, including robotic process automation, low-code platforms, data analytics and artificial intelligence.


Experience

With more than 30 years of experience in technology consulting, Mike helps clients leverage digital and advanced technologies to achieve their transformative business objectives. He leads a team of around 90 people who provide digital strategy and delivery experience across the span of the information technology function. Mike is a creative problem solver who views technology as an enabler of business strategy and operations. His specialties include designing and delivering business solutions using cognitive/AI and automation technologies. Mike has worked with clients across multiple industries, including the world's largest retailer and global utilities providers.  
 
Mike has deep experience in planning, designing and delivering complex solutions for clients to enable strategic business objectives. He has successfully delivered high-impact results to organizations, from Fortune 10 to pre-revenue start-ups in multiple industries, including telecommunications, financial services and utilities. His areas of technology delivery experience range from large ERP implementations (SAP and PeopleSoft) to cognitive/AI solutions based on IBM Watson, Microsoft AI and Google Cloud. He is skilled at right-sizing practical solutions that have a positive impact for clients and suit the appropriate life cycle stage of their businesses. He focuses on his ability and breadth of understanding to help clients achieve their objectives in a practical and realistic manner. 

Mike participates in RSM’s culture, diversity and inclusion efforts as part of the Generations employee network group that helps bridge the generational divide among RSM professionals. His passion for mentorship and stewardship of the next generation of RSM employees drew him to be part of the Generations ENG. He uses strategies shared by the group to support an environment of collaboration and knowledge-sharing throughout his entire team. 

Outside the firm, Mike supports his community by providing his business and technology and strategy experience to Allen Community Outreach, Allen High School Drill Team Boosters and other nonprofit organizations in the North Texas area.
