About Michelle

Michelle Borman has more than 10 years of experience advising clients on a variety of tax issues. Michelle successfully cultivates trusting relationships with her clients and guides them through transaction-related compensation issues.

Experience

Michelle is passionate about collaborating with clients on planning opportunities, navigating tax risk, complying with intricate tax requirements, and resolving complex tax issues. She consults on a variety of tax technical issues in the compensation area that relate to mergers and acquisitions, including section 280G golden parachute payments, transaction deduction timing, deferred compensation, equity compensation, and executive compensation. Prior to commencing a national role with RSM, Michelle specialized in assisting private equity and strategic buyers and sellers on the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures. In that role, Michelle performed tax due diligence and tax structuring for buy-side and sell-side transactions.

With a penchant for mentoring, Michelle enjoys developing junior team members and encouraging them to pursue their unique potential. She is also actively involved with the firm’s culture, diversity and inclusion (CDI) initiatives and is a member of five of the firm’s employee network groups.

When she’s not helping clients or developing talent, you can find Michelle spending time with family, exploring the outdoors, working out, or volunteering in her community.
