John considers himself a banker who works in public accounting, and has vast experience in risk consulting, including delivery of outsourced and co-sourced internal audit, regulatory compliance, credit review and information technology/cyber audit services for community and regional financial institutions. He regularly advises clients on merger and acquisition transactions, both buy and sell side, by providing all aspects of due diligence and structure through a regulatory lens. He also facilitates internal continuing education programs within the financial institutions space and is highly sought out by industry groups to present on emerging and pressing industry issues and topics.
Against the backdrop of a constantly changing landscape, John drives the efforts of the financial institutions practice at RSM to advise clients on “what’s next,” with a focus on the development and execution of innovation strategies around digital transformation and automation throughout the organization and an emphasis on lending and financial reporting activities.
His passion for the financial institutions industry is based on its importance to the U.S. economy and its ability to drive positive change in communities. John thrives on seeing his clients succeed and grow as they support the communities they serve. At RSM, he is invested in building the right team to deliver the right services at the right time. Outside of work, he and his wife, Jill, have twin sons and you can usually run into him at a Bears or White Sox game if the Dave Matthews Band is not in town that evening.
