About Edgar

Edgar Lopezlena is senior director for RSM US LLP, managing the firm’s Mexican/Latin American tax practice, as part of the firm’s international tax practice. His focus is assisting clients in addressing the tax and general business implications of investing, doing business or working in Mexico and other Latin American countries. Edgar practiced in his hometown of Mexico City and in Monterrey, Mexico, with two other middle market international consulting firms before joining RSM in December 2005.

Edgar also serves as the national leader of firm’s Mexico/Latin country practice. This practice is in charge of promoting bilateral growth for inbound and outbound clients to and from the United States, Mexico and other Latin American countries. The practice is also in charge in strengthening the relationship between RSM US LLP and the RSM member firms in the region by sharing knowledge, tools and know-how.


Experience

Edgar has over 20 years of experience providing tailored tax structuring and planning advice for companies (mainly from the United States and European Union) with economic activity in the Latin American region (principally in Mexico). His native language is Spanish; however, he possesses a full command of the English language and is equipped to identify the potential tax risks and tax-saving ramifications implied by doing business in Mexico and other Latin American countries. 

Outside of RSM, Edgar is passionate about public speaking and has presented at various professional events.
