RSM Continues to Be Stewards in the Community

Employees support their local communities through annual Volunteer Day

RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – recently held its eighth annual firm-wide Volunteer Day, during which more than 3,100 RSM employees and clients participated in more than 170 volunteer activities across the country to give back to their local communities.

Each year during RSM US Volunteer Day, employees and clients join forces to showcase the firm's core value of stewardship. Helping more than 100 charitable organizations, employees and clients sorted and boxed food donations, inspected and separated donated clothing, read to children, distributed food, packaged meals, painted buildings and homes, landscaped yards for schools, parks, shelters and nonprofits, and participated in many other activities to help those in need.

“Since our firm was founded in 1926, one of our leading values has always been stewardship,” said Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO of RSM US LLP. “Our annual Volunteer Day gives employees the opportunity to give back to the communities where we live and work. It not only facilitates teamwork, but also deepens our employees’ relationships with local nonprofit organizations.”

Recognizing that RSM people love to give of their time to help others, the RSM US Foundation’s ‘Dollars for Doers’ program makes Volunteer Day even more rewarding. The program matches employees’ direct volunteer hours with dollars for charitable organizations whose mission align with the foundation’s mission of building tomorrow's middle market leaders by enhancing educational outcomes through programs for individuals to have career paths to become entrepreneurs or middle market business leaders, and/or supporting organizations committed to providing more stable environments for youth in the areas of hunger, housing and health, which will help them excel in education.

“Our firm has a long-standing focus on stewardship that benefits tomorrow’s business leader,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer and chairman of the RSM US Foundation. “The Dollars for Doers program is a great opportunity to multiply the time investment that our employees make each year. We are honored to support our employees’ philanthropic efforts and the charities that help build tomorrow’s business leaders.”

A number of the nonprofits that benefited from this year’s RSM US Volunteer Day are also clients of the firm, which provided unique opportunities to build relationships, while supporting the unique local needs of the communities where RSM operates.
