McGladrey Congratulates Chris Kirk, Winner of the 2013 McGladrey Classic

McGladrey LLP, the nation's leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, and title sponsor of The McGladrey Classic, congratulates PGA TOUR Professional Chris Kirk, winner of the 2013 McGladrey Classic. Kirk shot a final-round 66 to claim his second PGA TOUR victory.

Kirk, a native of Atlanta, GA and former resident of Sea Island, home of The McGladrey Classic, has played 24 events this season, made 20 cuts and has had three top 10 finishes. He was second at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and won his first PGA TOUR victory at the Viking Classic in 2011 (what is now Sanderson Farms Championship). Mark Love, executive director for The McGladrey Classic and brother of Team McGladrey Member Davis Love III is Kirk’s coach, making this win extra special.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Chris to the McGladrey 'family,' as winner of the fourth McGladrey Classic," said Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO of McGladrey. Chris joins Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey, Ben Crane and Heath Slocum as part of the history of McGladrey, where, much like in the game of golf, the values of integrity, teamwork, respect, excellence and stewardship guide our daily operations. Congratulations, Chris!"

"Like the first three years of The McGladrey Classic, this year’s event was a huge success, allowing us to give back to the community through Birdies Fore Love and Youth Day, while also spending quality time with clients and potential clients,” said Adams. “Through this year’s Birdies Fore Love program, thousands of McGladrey employees donated more than $430,000 to charitable organizations in 65 cities nationwide.”

The 2013 McGladrey Classic included a concert by country music artist Toby Keith, which attracted thousands of fans, and a golf clinic for children, hosted by last year's McGladrey Classic winner Tommy Gainey and his friend and fellow PGA TOUR Professional William McGirt. Other highlights included a putting contest with McGladrey leaders, PGA TOUR professionals and participants from Special Olympics and Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeast Georgia; and Military Appreciation Day. Proceeds from this year's McGladrey Classic will benefit Special Olympics, the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Georgia and other local charitable organizations.

"We'd like to thank the 1,200 volunteers who made this year's tournament such a success, and shared their Southern hospitality with the tens of thousands of golf enthusiasts who joined us here at Sea Island," said Adams. "The real winners this week are the Sea Island community and the charities that benefit from The McGladrey Classic through the Davis Love Foundation and Birdies Fore Love. We look forward to returning next fall."
