CHICAGO – (July 1, 2025) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services for the middle market – is excited to recognize this year’s recipients of the RSM Shot at College scholarships—an initiative in partnership with the Zach Johnson Foundation and Kids on Course that offers financial support and ongoing mentorship to empower three students annually in their pursuit of higher education. Since its inception, RSM has awarded 15 scholarships to students in the Cedar Rapids area.
The RSM Shot at College program reflects the mission of Kids on Course—a nonprofit founded by the Zach Johnson Foundation in partnership with the Cedar Rapids Community School District—to eliminate barriers to post-secondary success through tutoring, enrichment, and family engagement.
To apply, eligible rising seniors in the Kids on Course program submitted essays detailing their academic passions and how the scholarship would support their goals. Applicants were evaluated based on academic growth and a demonstrated commitment to leadership and service within their schools and communities.
Three students were selected to receive four-year scholarships valued at $40,000 each ($10,000 annually), along with mentorship from RSM professionals throughout their college journey. Those pursuing degrees aligned with RSM’s business needs and maintaining strong academic performance will also be considered for RSM’s Pathways program. In addition, recipients were invited to the Zach Johnson Foundation Classic Pro-Am, where they had the opportunity to earn extra support for their senior classes.

“Our continued collaboration with the Zach Johnson Foundation and the Kids on Course program is a source of great pride for RSM,” said Donna Sciarappa, RSM US Foundation Board of Directors Chair and enterprise client experience leader at RSM US LLP. “Together, we’re making a meaningful difference in the lives of students in the Cedar Rapids community. We’re honored to support this year’s RSM Shot at College scholarship recipients—an inspiring group of young individuals—and we look forward to watching them thrive as they continue their academic journeys.”
“We are incredibly grateful to RSM for their continued support of the Shot at College program and their commitment to helping students pursue post-secondary education. Thanks to RSM’s generosity, three outstanding Kids on Course students now have greater access to the opportunities they’ve worked so hard for," said Eric Christenson, Executive Director of the Zach Johnson Foundation. “RSM’s belief in our students and their futures is making a lasting impact, and we are proud to partner with such a dedicated and forward-thinking organization.”
The three scholarship recipients also took part in a special clinic during the Zach Johnson Foundation Classic, where they had the chance to earn additional prizes to support their college readiness and contribute to a team-building experience for their senior class. With the support of PGA TOUR professionals Zach Johnson and Chris Kirk, and LPGA professionals Maria Fassi and Megan Khang, the students secured $500 Visa gift cards for back-to-school shopping, along with new Bose headphones, iPads, and laptops to kick off their college journeys. They also earned $12,500 toward a senior class celebration recognizing their achievements.
The 2025 RSM Shot at College winners were formally announced during the gala fundraiser that opened the 13th annual Zach Johnson Foundation Classic, held at the Cedar Rapids DoubleTree by Hilton.
