Accounting Today Names RSM’s Brian Becker to 2023 Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting List

CHICAGO – (December 12, 2023) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services for the middle market – is pleased to announce that its managing partner & CEO Brian Becker was named to Accounting Today’s 2023 Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting list.

The Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting are recognized for their high-profile roles in advancing the profession. According to Accounting Today’s “Pipeline Problem-Solvers” special edition, the Top 100 Most Influential People are tackling accounting’s biggest challenges from every angle.

“The best leaders pull up those behind them – which has never been a more critical trait than in today’s talent-restricted environment,” states the publication. Adding that “the pipeline problem was the most vocalized concern by this year’s Top 100 class,” the publication goes on to say that those on the list also outlined possible solutions to current challenges while working to promote, preserve and advocate for the profession. “The solution-oriented mindset and advocacy are what define the Top 100 as influential, along with their prominent roles and sharing of specialized knowledge.”

Becker was cited for continuing to prioritize RSM’s digital focus, without losing sight of the importance of attracting and retaining talent – not just from traditional accountant pools but from among business majors, engineers, technologists and other fields.

Becker is joined on this year’s list of the Top 100 Most Influential by Andreas Barckow – chair, IASB; Joel Black – chair, GASB; Jennifer Burns – chief auditor, AICPA; Susan Coffey – CEO, public accounting, AICPA and CIMA; Gary Gensler – chairman, SEC; Barry Melancon – president & CEO, AICPA; Janet Yellen – U.S. Secretary of the Treasury; and others. He is committed to advancing diversity and inclusion at RSM and to continuing the firm’s longstanding history of stewardship. He previously served as RSM’s consulting leader, where he tripled the size of the practice in five years by harnessing the full power of RSM’s technical and industry expertise. He has also held numerous other national and regional leadership roles at RSM and served as a member of the RSM US LLP Board of Directors from 2011 to 2015.
