RSM’s Sara Lord Appointed to PCAOB’s Standards and Emerging Issues Advisory Group

CHICAGO – (May 10, 2022) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”)  – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that RSM Chief Auditor Sara Lord has been appointed to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB)’s Standards and Emerging Issues Advisory Group (SEIAG). 

The SEIAG recently was established by the PCAOB to advise on existing standards, proposed standards, potential new standards and on matters other than standards, such as emerging issues, that are of significance to the PCAOB in order to protect the interests of investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate and independent audit reports.

In her role as RSM’s Chief Auditor, Lord has overall responsibility for the methodology, tools, training and thought leadership supporting RSM’s assurance services as delivered today and their evolution into the future. She has had first-hand experience as an engagement partner and engagement quality reviewer for SEC issuers and broker-dealers, which has enhanced her participation in standard setting, her engagement in public policy, and her leadership in the development of audit methodology, technology and innovation.  

Lord is committed to excellence in corporate governance and currently serves as a member of the RSM Board of Directors and maintains the NACD Directorship Certification®. She also serves the profession as co-chair of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) Quality Management Standards Task Force, and was previously the vice chair of both the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) Professional Practice Executive Committee and the CAQ Advisory Council. She is a CPA licensed in Minnesota and North Dakota.
