RSM US Foundation Awards Power Your Education Scholarships Totaling $100K

CHICAGO – (May 11, 2022) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce the selection of 10 students to receive $10,000 each toward their 2022-2023 tuition (for a total of $100,000 in scholarships) through the RSM US Foundation’s national scholarship program: Power Your Education. In addition to the scholarship, each student is also invited to participate in an RSM information session this summer.

Scholarship recipients were selected based on their GPAs, a brief description of something that makes them unique and 30-second videos describing what “the power of being understood” means to them. Judges assessed applicants’ videos based on the degree to which they reflect RSM’s core values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence and stewardship, taking into consideration each video’s creativity, quality of story-telling and reflection of applicants’ individuality.

“We are honored to be able to provide deserving students with scholarships through the RSM US Foundation’s Power Your Education program,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer and chairman of the RSM US Foundation. “Every day, our people are laser-focused on providing our middle market clients with the insights and support they need to achieve their goals. And the RSM US Foundation is focused on building tomorrow’s middle market leaders to help ensure the long-term viability of those middle market businesses.”

Other ways that RSM and the RSM US Foundation support the communities where its people live and work across the U.S. and Canada include:

  • An annual volunteer opportunity – Established in 2010, the firm’s annual volunteer opportunity allows our people to demonstrate our focus on our core value of stewardship by volunteering in their local communities. In 2021 alone, 4,262 RSM people, friends and clients participated in more than 100 volunteer events in the U.S. and Canada. Ninety-one nonprofit organizations benefitted, including United Way, Junior Achievement, Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre, and numerous local school districts and food banks.
  • Birdies Fore Love – RSM works with the Davis Love Foundation, host organization of PGA TOUR event, The RSM Classic – on Birdies Fore Love. Through the program, each RSM office selects a local charitable organization that supports youth in the areas of education, hunger, housing and health. Each charity benefits from the funds raised locally by RSM people, clients, family members and friends. With a generous match from the RSM US Foundation, we were able to give $4.8 million directly to deserving organizations in 2021.
