CHICAGO – (July 21, 2022) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that the RSM US Foundation recently made financial and equipment donations to support Boys & Girls Clubs of America, one of the national charitable organizations supported by RSM, and BGC Canada.
Through the arrangement, RSM worked with Executive Personal Computers, Inc. (EPC), one of the firm’s technology vendors, to donate 100 Lenovo Chromebooks to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, with 60 being donated to Boys & Girls Clubs of Quinault Indian Nation, and 40 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Yurok Tribe. In addition to the technology, RSM and the RSM US Foundation made a $237,500 donation to support the organization’s 2022-2023 Workforce Readiness Strategy programming in Orlando; Irvine; Washington, DC; and Chicago, plus an additional three clubs in Baltimore, Charlotte and Dallas. A donation of $84,000 and $22,000 will be used toward equipping mutually selected Clubs with technology to help close the digital divide for Clubs in Orlando and Irvine, and to BGC Canada, respectively.
“The world is changing at an increasingly rapid pace, and both employers and employees must embrace technology to not only keep up but to prepare and solve for tomorrow’s business challenges,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer and chairman of the RSM US Foundation’s board of directors. “The mission of the RSM US Foundation is to build tomorrow’s middle market leaders by enhancing educational outcomes through programs that provide individuals with career paths to become entrepreneurs or middle market business leaders and/or that serve youth in the areas of hunger, housing or health. The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of America aligns nicely with the foundation’s, and we are proud to be able to help them prepare today’s youth for tomorrow.”
“Boys & Girls Clubs of America is committed to helping youth reach their full potential, which includes equipping young people with the tools and resources they need to succeed after high school,” said Jim Clark, president and CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “We are thrilled to work with RSM to enhance access to digital technology and workforce readiness programming, enabling Club youth to have great futures.”
