Matt Talcoff Named Leader of RSM’s Washington National Tax Practice

CHICAGO – (May 9, 2022) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – recently named Matt Talcoff the leader of the firm’s Washington National Tax (WNT) practice, effective May 1. Talcoff succeeds Patti Burquest, who will remain with WNT before retiring in April 2023.

In Talcoff’s new role, he will lead RSM's core resource for tax policy, technical knowledge and thought leadership in the United States. He transitions from his previous role as national tax industry leader and client experience leader. 

The WNT practice provides timely insights on new tax developments, as well as critical connectivity to Capitol Hill and federal and state agencies. WNT professionals serve as on-the-spot resources for resolving specific technical questions, and they liaise with taxing authorities.

Talcoff has worked closely with the firm’s national industry and national tax leadership to ensure alignment of strategic efforts. He also has assisted the firm’s private client leadership team on global initiatives, as well as initiatives related to private equity and investment fund executives and family offices.

Talcoff joined RSM in 2008 following 17 years at a Big Four firm. As a member of RSM’s national tax leadership team since 2019, he has coordinated and supported the firm’s commitment to serving domestic and globally active private clients and ensuring an industry approach is embedded in how RSM serves the middle market.
