2021 RSM Classic Raises More than $5.5 Million for Children- and Family-focused Charitable Organizations

Tournament has raised nearly $29 million for those in need since 2010

CHICAGO – (March 6, 2022) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market and title sponsor of The RSM Classic, an official PGA TOUR event hosted by the Davis Love Foundation – is pleased to announce that the 12th annual RSM Classic (Nov. 15 – 21, 2021) raised $5,580,325 for children- and family-focused charitable organizations. This brings the grand total raised for those in need through the tournament since its inception in 2010 to $28,869,523.

“The RSM Classic provides us with the opportunity each year to showcase our core value of stewardship by supporting deserving North American nonprofits in the 87 cities where our people live and work across the U.S. and in Canada,” said Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO with RSM US LLP. “Our people, clients, friends, Team RSM and the PGA TOUR share our focus on building tomorrow’s middle market leaders by supporting children and families in need. It is an honor to be part of such a dedicated team focused on doing so much good for so many through The RSM Classic and through Birdies Fore Love.”

“Our employee-led Birdies Fore Love fundraising program makes such a positive difference in our communities,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer and chairman of the RSM US Foundation. “I’m humbled each year by our people’s dedication to Birdies Fore Love, our annual Volunteer Week and many other activities that enhance the quality of life for those in their local communities, and we at RSM are honored to amplify those efforts through the support of the RSM US Foundation. The commitment of our people, clients and friends to making the world a better place is evidenced by their generosity and dedication.”

One of the many exciting features of The RSM Classic efforts is RSM’s Birdies Fore Love Charity Competition with the PGA TOUR, which donated $1 million to charities supported by PGA TOUR players who recorded the most birdies (or better) during Fall PGA events. Each week, the player with the most birdies (or better) is awarded $50,000 to donate to the winner’s chosen charity. At the conclusion of the last tournament of the competition, The RSM Classic, RSM awarded the top three overall winners with donations. The top three players who accumulated the most birdies (or better) were Talor Gooch (winner of the 2021 RSM Classic) and Tom Hoge, who tied for first place to win $300,000 each for their charities of choice, and Sung Kang who finished third and won $50,000 for his charity of choice.

Charitable dollars raised through The RSM Classic are distributed by the RSM US Foundation and the Davis Love Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that manages and operates The RSM Classic. The Davis Love Foundation was established in 2005 by professional golfer and Team RSM Member Davis Love III and his wife Robin. The foundation contributes to the wellbeing and progress of society by supporting both national and community-based programs that focus on children and their families. Its mission is to help build a better future for children and their families who are at risk of poor educational, economic, social and health outcomes.

“Giving back to the community is at the center of the PGA TOUR’s long history, and the Davis Love Foundation is honored to partner with an organization where its tournaments have provided so much in charitable giving over the years,” said Love III.  “Robin and I are thrilled about the total raised through the 2021 RSM Classic, and we’re looking forward to doing even greater things this November – all made possible due largely to our dedicated team at the Davis Love Foundation, and our incredible relationships with title sponsor RSM and other sponsors, and the Golden Isles community.”

The 2022 RSM Classic is scheduled for Mon., Nov. 14, through Sun., Nov. 20, at Sea Island Golf Club on St. Simons Island, Georgia.
