RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – recently announced that Mark Patterson and Eliot Mitchell have been selected to serve as national telecom sector co-leaders.
In their new roles, Patterson and Mitchell will become members of the firm’s national technology, media and telecom (TMT) leadership team. They will be responsible for business development, relationship management and expanding RSM’s telecom thought leadership and capabilities.
“During the past year, the telecom sector has been at the center of how we live, work and stay connected,” said Steve Ingram, national technology, media and telecom leader with RSM US LLP. “With the increased demand for reliable and high-speed internet, emergence of 5G and focus on investment across the sector, Mark and Eliot will be an integral part of addressing our clients’ ever-evolving needs. Their combination of experience, leadership and client focus make them great fits for their new roles.”
“As first-choice advisors, Eliot and I understand the key trends and issues in the telecom industry – from privacy and security to infrastructure investment and regulatory changes – and what that means for RSM’s clients,” said Patterson. “I look forward to contributing to our clients’ success in this new role.”
“It’s an exciting time in the telecom sector, and I’m thrilled for the opportunity to collaborate with our talented telecom professionals in a leadership role alongside Mark,” said Mitchell.
Patterson is a senior tax manager in the firm’s New York office. He has more than 25 years of experience in state and local tax practice. Prior to coming to RSM, he was a director of wireline transaction tax audits at a major telecommunications company.
Mitchell is a risk consulting director in McLean, Virginia. He has an extensive background in delivering SOX compliance and internal control development services to public and private entities across technology, telecom and other industries.
Patterson earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from St. Thomas Aquinas College. Mitchell earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee.
