CHICAGO – (August 19, 2021) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that Dr. Tuan Nguyen has joined the firm as its new U.S. economist. Nguyen will be based out of the firm’s New York office.
In his new role, Nguyen will focus on the U.S. and global economies and growth of the American middle market, bringing his intellect, analytical rigor, and data science skills to help the firm address the profound and accelerating changes in the U.S. and global economies.
“We are thrilled to have Tuan join RSM as our U.S. economist,” said Joe Brusuelas, chief economist with RSM US LLP. “Our quarterly Middle Market Business Index and The Real Economy, which is published monthly, provide deep economic insights for the middle market businesses we serve. As the influence of the middle market continues to grow, RSM continues to invest in our ability to deliver broader economic context and insights to help these middle market businesses succeed. Tuan’s addition to the RSM team is just one of the latest examples of how we continue to enhance our ability to meet the growing and ever-changing needs of our clients.”
“I am looking forward to helping RSM’s middle market clients succeed by providing deep, data-driven economic analysis and insights that will enhance their ability to compete in an increasingly competitive and global economy,” said Nguyen. “It’s exciting to contribute to the development of these meaningful and actionable pieces of thought leadership.”
Prior to joining RSM, Nguyen was a graduate researcher, lecturer, and teaching assistant for the economics department of his alma mater Northeastern University where he taught macroeconomics, international economics, and microeconomics theory. Prior to that, he held research and marketing positions in Hanoi, Vietnam. He has authored a number of papers, including The Hype Economy: Spillover Effects of Limited Edition Strategy, Consumer Responses to Co-branding: Empirical Evidence from a Fashion Brand, and Zigzags on the Road to the Top: A Matching Model with Leadership Spillovers.
Nguyen holds a Ph.D. in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Affairs from the University of New Hampshire, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was recognized as an outstanding economics student.
