CHICAGO – (July 9, 2021) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – announced that Rebekuh Eley has been named national exempt health care tax leader, Richard Kes has been named national health care audit innovation leader, Karen Pinkstaff has been named national health care audit leader, and Parr Thomson has been named national for-profit tax leader for health care.
These leaders will each serve on the firm’s national health care leadership team. They are focused on delivering expertise, innovative service offerings and exceptional client experiences to grow RSM’s already dominant position in the health care space.

Eley is a tax partner with 19 years of experience advising tax exempt organizations on tax issues including the complex rules governing exempt status and 501(r) compliance, excise taxes, unrelated business taxable income, intermediate sanctions, private inurement, joint venture arrangements, lobbying and political activities, and compliance and information reporting. She is also the Great Lakes regional exempt organization practice leader. Eley earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Benedictine University and a Master of Science in taxation from Northern Illinois University.
Kes is an audit partner with more than 15 years of experience providing audit and consultative services to clients of all sizes across the health care continuum including integrated health systems, physician groups, safety-net hospitals, health insurance clients, and other various health care related entities. He is also a graduate of RSM’s three-year, cutting edge Industry Eminence Program, which positions its senior analysts to understand, forecast and communicate economic, business and technology trends shaping the industries RSM serves. In his new role, he will lead the innovation and technology of tomorrow and transform methodology, strategy and go-to-market activities to deliver growth and high quality audit results. Kes graduated with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance from Minnesota State University–Mankato.
Pinkstaff is an audit partner with 20 years of experience providing assurance services with clients of all sizes, including large accelerated filers and non-accelerated filers, large not for profit health systems, GASB health systems, physician practice groups, academic medical institutions, children’s hospitals, hospice, home health, long-term acute care, medical billing companies and private equity backed health care entities in many different specialties. Pinkstaff has served as the ASC 606 lead ambassador for the health care industry and also serves as the national leader for the physician sector team. She is also responsible for leading the RSM health care practice in the Texas/Oklahoma market. Pinkstaff earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and a Master of Science in finance from Texas A&M University.
Thomson is a tax senior manager who has more than 11 years of tax experience advising clients in areas such as tax compliance, accounting for income taxes, tax controversy and mergers and acquisitions activities – the last of which he focused on during his rotation in RSM’s Washington National Tax (WNT) office in Washington, D.C. Thomson will continue to grow RSM’s already leading position in the health care private equity space. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting, risk management and insurance from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
