AGA Recognizes RSM's Tracey Walker with President's Award

CHICAGO – (July 13, 2021) – The National President of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), Wendy Morton-Huddleston, recently presented a President’s Award to Tracey Walker – national leader of culture, diversity and inclusion with RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market. AGA’s President’s Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to furthering AGA’s mission and making a positive impact on its chapters, members and the profession.

Walker was presented the award in recognition of her role as co-chair for the AGA’s inaugural Council for the Advancement of Women. The Council is comprised of members who act on behalf of the AGA to manage gender diversity initiatives and progress. Walker, along with co-chair Gwendolyn Sykes, chief financial officer with the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, effectively implemented a strategic framework to drive gender equity, engagement, and advancement. According to AGA, their outstanding leadership contributed to initiatives designed to amplify five strategic priorities: leadership roles, chapter pipeline, professional development, promotion of equality and effective measurement and reporting.

Walker also developed and hosted the first unconscious bias training for the 17-member National Governing Board and continues to lead the successful annual Professional Development Training Women’s Forum and Women’s History Month programming.

“We thank Tracey for her leadership and for getting the Council for the Advancement of Women off to a strong start,” said Ann Ebberts, CEO with AGA. “Through the Council, we will engage with women in and supporting government, to have the necessary conversations and take action to lift others up. These women are serving as mentors to others who want to create and sustain lasting change through a variety of diversity initiatives. We are proud that Tracy and Gwen are collaborating with us to ‘lead the charge.”

“We are proud of the significant contributions Tracey makes not only to our firm but to the entire profession,” said Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO with RSM US LLP. “Tracey works tirelessly to make sure that our firm is an inclusive place where all of our people feel a sense of belonging, and that our profession is leading the way in terms of diversity and inclusion. We are thrilled that the AGA has recognized Tracey for her significant contributions.”
