Team RSM Member Zach Johnson Named 2020 Payne Stewart Award Winner

CHICAGO – (August 11, 2020) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market and title sponsor of The RSM Classic, an official PGA TOUR event – is pleased to congratulate PGA TOUR professional and Team RSM Member Zach Johnson on being named the 2020 Payne Stewart Award winner.

The Payne Stewart Award, named after three-time major champion Payne Stewart, who perished in a plane accident on the way to the TOUR Championship in 2000, is regarded as the most prestigious on the PGA TOUR. The award is presented to players who best exemplify Stewart’s value of character, charity and sportsmanship.

Byron Nelson, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus shared the award the first year. Since then, past winners have included Jay Haas and Steve Stricker, Jim Fuyrk and Ernie Els, Team RSM Member Davis Love III and Nick Price.

In July 2010, Zach and his wife Kim founded the Zach Johnson Foundation, which benefits children in need in his hometown of Cedar Rapids, IA. In addition to hosting the Zach Johnson Foundation Classic each year, he participates in The RSM Classic, which has raised more than $17.6 million for those in need since the tournament’s inception in 2010. Johnson will be honored Sept. 2, during the TOUR Championship in Atlanta.
