CHICAGO – (May 19, 2020) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that Sergio de la Fe has taken on a new position within the firm as national industry leader for industrials, effective May 1.
In addition to his new role, de la Fe serves as RSM’s national enterprise accounts leader. He is also the immediate past chair of the board of directors of RSM US LLP.
As the national enterprise accounts leader, de la Fe ensures that RSM delivers a premium client experience that fulfills the firm’s brand promise of the power of being understood. As national industry leader for industrials, de la Fe is responsible for all aspects of RSM’s industrials business across all service lines, focused on RSM’s clients and people.
De la Fe fills this new role just as RSM prepares to change the name of this industry group from “industrial products” to “industrials,” with the aim of being more inclusive of all the various industrial sectors RSM serves. That change will be effective June 1.
During his tenure as board chair, de la Fe was responsible for ultimate oversight and governance of RSM US LLP. He focused on RSM’s strategy to be the first choice advisor to middle market leaders globally and to ensure that the firm’s culture aligned with its core values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence and stewardship. He also prioritized innovation, technology, and the firm’s culture, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Throughout his career, de la Fe has served a number of Fortune 500 and middle market companies globally in a variety of sectors, including industrials, consumer products and financial services.
De la Fe was a founding member of RSM US LLP’s national Employee Network Executive Council, where he oversaw the firm’s diversity initiatives and employee networks. He is also the national founder of ¡HOLA!, an RSM employee network group that provides leadership and advancement support to RSM’s Hispanic and Latino professionals. De la Fe was awarded the 2019 ALPFA Executive of the Year award by the Association of Latino Professionals for America. That award is presented annually to a senior leader who is career-oriented, promotes diversity within corporate America and has a strong personal interest in ALPFA’s mission.
De la Fe holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Florida International University as well as a graduate certificate from the Wharton School of Business.
