RSM's Kevin Carpenter to Lead Cybersecurity Due Diligence

CHICAGO – (April 14, 2020) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that Kevin Carpenter will take on a new role as cybersecurity due diligence leader within the firm’s transaction advisory services (TAS) practice.

Carpenter is moving from his position in the firm’s risk consulting practice to focus on working with clients to mitigate risk and ensure compliance around data security and privacy, both before and during a transaction.  He will continue to educate the firm’s clients on the value of cybersecurity during diligence as well as post-close.

Over the past eight years, Carpenter has focused on assisting RSM’s clients in understanding and solving complex issues primarily related to the security and privacy of portfolio companies within the private equity space. He has also conducted regulatory-focused assessments to ensure compliance with standards set by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Standards Security Council and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), as well as compliance with specific regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Carpenter earned his Bachelor of Science degree in management information systems and decision sciences from Miami University. He will be based out of RSM’s Cincinnati office.
