CHICAGO – (November 19, 2020) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation's leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market and title sponsor of The RSM Classic – was pleased to recently present a check for just over $4 million to the Davis Love Foundation as a result of the firm’s employee-led Birdies Fore Love (BFL) campaign in connection with the 11th annual RSM Classic, a PGA TOUR event for which RSM is title sponsor.
Through BFL, RSM’s people in the U.S. and in Canada, supported with a matching donation from the RSM US Foundation, raised these funds for nonprofits focused on enhancing educational outcomes and the quality of life for children and families.
“It’s such an honor to be able to support the communities where our 13,000 people live and work across the country and in Canada,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer with RSM US LLP and chair of the RSM US Foundation. “Thanks to the support of our people, our clients and others, as well as the leadership efforts of this year’s Birdies Fore Love efforts, Andrew Lynch and Chris Waddail, we’re proud to have raised more than $4 million this year to enhance our communities. The RSM Classic has become not only a unique Seaside tradition for our clients and friends, but part of the very fabric of our firm. We are grateful to Davis Love III and the rest of our Team RSM members, the PGA TOUR and others for helping elevate our firm’s fundraising efforts to benefit those in need.”
In 2018, RSM, in conjunction with the PGA TOUR, expanded the RSM BFL program through an on-course competition over the first eight events of the 2018-19 PGA TOUR season. They expanded the program further in 2019 to include the first 11 events of the 2019-20 season, bringing the grand total raised for charity through the on-course competition to more than $1 million.
Through the on-course BFL competition, winning players are encouraged to designate the funds to charitable organizations dedicated to building tomorrow’s middle market leaders through programs that support education, as well as organizations committed to improving the lives of youth through a focus on hunger, housing and health.
“RSM’s sponsorship of The RSM Classic and the firm’s support for the Sea Island community as well as the other communities where RSM’s people live and work are essential to the success of the tournament, and make a profound positive impact in the world,” said Davis Love III, Team RSM Members, 21-time PGA TOUR winner and 2017 Golf Hall of Fame inductee. “Through the actions of its people, RSM proves day after day and year after year that its core value of stewardship is at the center of everything the firm does. I’m proud to be a Team RSM member, and am humbled by everything that we’re able to achieve together.”
