CHICAGO – (February 14, 2019) – RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market and title sponsor of The RSM Classic, an official PGA TOUR event hosted by the Davis Love Foundation – is proud to announce that the ninth annual RSM Classic (Nov. 12 – 18, 2018) raised $3,529,188 for children- and family-focused charitable organizations. This brings the grand contribution total raised through the tournament since its inception in 2010 to more than $13 million.
“The RSM Classic has become an annual tradition for RSM and our middle market clients,” said Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO of RSM US LLP. “It’s so much more than a golf tournament. The RSM Classic provides us with an opportunity each year to spend some quality time with our clients and friends, while also providing a world stage to promote the importance of supporting those in need. Stewardship has been one of RSM’s core values since our firm was founded in 1926, and we are thrilled to be able to amplify those efforts through The RSM Classic, Birdies Fore Love (the tournament’s giving platform) and the RSM US Foundation each year.”
“Our people, clients and friends truly embrace Birdies Fore Love,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer and chairman of the RSM US Foundation. “Our employee-led Birdies Fore Love nationwide program has a huge positive impact on the communities where our people live and work. It’s heart-warming to know that together we’re leaving things better than we found them – and that’s how we define stewardship.”
Charitable dollars raised through The RSM Classic are distributed by the Davis Love Foundation, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that manages and operates the tournament. The Foundation was established in 2005 by professional golfer and Team RSM member Davis Love III and his wife Robin. The Foundation contributes to the wellbeing and progress of society by supporting both national and community-based programs that focus on children and their families. The Foundation’s mission is to help build a better future for children and their families who are at risk of poor educational, economic, social and health outcomes.
“Our Foundation is honored to be able to positively impact children- and family-focused charities through the dollars raised by The RSM Classic,” said Davis Love III, Team RSM member. “It is our privilege to continue the PGA TOUR’s tradition of charitable giving. The RSM Classic is the largest fundraiser of our Foundation. We are excited about the dollars raised in 2018, and are looking forward to even bigger and better things in 2019 as we celebrate the tenth anniversary of the tournament.”
The 2019 RSM Classic is scheduled for Nov. 18 – 24, 2019 at Sea Island, GA.
