RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – announced today that E.J. Nedder has been named national tax leader and a member of RSM’s leadership team, effective September 1.
Nedder succeeds Jeff Johannesen who recently accepted a position as RSM’s chief strategy & innovation officer. As national tax leader, Nedder will be responsible for setting and implementing RSM’s tax strategy. He will also serve as a member of RSM’s leadership team, reporting directly to Managing Partner and CEO Joe Adams.
During his 15 years as a partner at RSM, Nedder has held various tax leadership roles at the local, regional and national levels. He most recently served as RSM’s national tax consulting leader. Nedder is also the current chairman of the RSM US LLP Board of Directors. He has served two separate terms, and his current term will conclude this fall.
“E.J.’s experience in multiple areas of our tax practice, combined with his leadership on the firm’s Board of Directors, makes him uniquely suited to be RSM’s national tax leader,” said Adams. “He is stepping into this position at a critical time as middle market companies are assessing their tax situations in light of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the recent Wayfair decision and other local, state and global factors. I am confident he will provide strong leadership for our teams and our clients.”
“I am excited to take on the national tax leadership role,” said Nedder. “We have a great team that is dedicated to making a difference for our clients who need strong advisors to help them navigate recent tax changes. I look forward to continuing to advance RSM’s tax practice and the firm’s vision to be the first-choice advisor to middle market leaders globally.”
Nedder holds a Juris Doctor degree from New England Law School and Bachelor of Science degree in management from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business. His tax practice experience encompasses working with a variety of clients, including specialization with private equity and ultra-high net worth clients. Prior to entering public accounting, Nedder completed clerkships with the Surrogates Court in New York and the Appellate Tax Board in Massachusetts. He is a licensed attorney and CPA in New York and Connecticut.
Nedder will continue to be located in RSM’s Stamford, Connecticut office.
