RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – was pleased to present the Davis Love Foundation with a check for more than $2.8 million as a result of the firm’s employee led- Birdies Fore Love (BFL) campaign in connection with the ninth annual RSM Classic.
Birdies Fore Love is RSM’s charitable giving platform for The RSM Classic, a PGA TOUR event, for which RSM is title sponsor. Through BFL, RSM people, supported with a matching donation from the RSM US Foundation, raised these funds for nonprofit organizations focused on enhancing educational outcomes and the quality of life for children and families.
“RSM and the game of golf share a focus on community,” said Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO with RSM US LLP. “It’s an honor for us to sponsor The RSM Classic. The philanthropic aspect of the game resonates with our clients and with our people, who have an inner drive to make the world a better place by leaving things better than we find them.”
Last month, RSM, in conjunction with the PGA TOUR, announced an expansion of the RSM BFL program through an on-course competition over the first eight events of the 2018-19 PGA TOUR season. The top three players who accumulate the most birdies (or better), beginning with the Safeway Open and concluding with The RSM Classic, will be awarded with $300,000, $150,000 and $50,000, respectively, for charitable donations to children- and/or family-focused charitable organizations of their choice.
Winning players will be encouraged to designate the funds to charitable organizations dedicated to building tomorrow’s middle market leaders through programs that support education, as well as organizations committed to improving the lives of youth through a focus on hunger, housing and health.
“We are thrilled to be in a position to support the communities where our people live and work,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer with RSM US LLP, and chairman of the RSM US Foundation. “Thanks to the support of our nearly 10,000 people nationwide and the leadership of our BFL co-leaders, Bailey Kosiek and Laura Shen, we are proud to have raised over $2.8 million this year—bringing the total raised through The RSM Classic to nearly $12 million to date.”
“We are grateful for RSM’s support of The RSM Classic and of the Sea Island community, as well as the other communities across the country where RSM has a presence,” said Team RSM member, 21-time PGA TOUR winner and 2017 Golf Hall of Fame Inductee Davis Love III. “We couldn’t ask for a better partner on this event, and it’s our pleasure to magnify our individual efforts to support the community by joining forces.”
