RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation's leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that Consulting magazine recently named RSM to its 2018 Best Firms to Work For list for the fifth consecutive year. RSM moved from No. 12 on the list in 2017 to No. 9 this year.

To be named a Best Firm to Work For, firms were ranked based on survey responses in six categories – each measuring a different aspect of employee satisfaction. The categories included client engagement, firm culture, firm leadership, career development, work/life balance and compensation & benefits. Some 10,000 consultants, representing more than 300 firms participated. A little more than three quarters of the participants came from the U.S.

“Consulting magazine’s 2018 Best Firms to Work For article describes the morale at RSM as ‘sky high,’” said Katie Lamkin, chief human resources officer with RSM. “That’s a testament to our firm’s unwavering focus on understanding and embracing the unique differences of our people and the strength that we collectively bring to the table to help our clients meet their objectives.”

“All of our consulting lines continue to grow rapidly, and the demand for our expertise shows no sign of slowing,” said with RSM National Consulting Leader Brian Becker. “With the demand comes challenging opportunities for our team members who feel they are at a firm with limitless career options.”

Becker says most of RSM’s clients face what might be an unprecedented level of disruption, from technology opportunities and cybersecurity threats to regulatory changes, and RSM continuously looks for new and better ways to serve those clients. Adding to the challenge, clients are confronted with this disruption in an extremely tight labor market, where many businesses are finding it challenging to hire people with the skills they need to continue to grow and succeed.

“Many of [our clients] turn to RSM for help, not only addressing the hurdles they face, but also proactively taking advantage of the opportunities available to them. It is an exciting time to work with our clients. We understand their needs and we’re grateful for the trust they continue to place in our ability to help them achieve success,” said Becker.

As demand for RSM’s services continues to grow, the biggest challenge the firm faces is continuing to attract retain high-performing professionals. “We have a great story to tell,” said Becker.

Becker also says he knows that RSM has a great culture – one that the firm leaders are very proud to share with others. “It’s a source of pride for our employees. And we know that our clients want to work with service providers who are happy in their work and feel valued by their employer,” said Becker.
