Louis brings an extensive background in the alternative asset and financial services industries. He spent the first decade of his career working for several large investment banks in various financial reporting positions, with a strong focus on fixed income securities. In 2000, he began working in alternative assets with a top-tier global hedge fund manager, where he eventually served as the chief financial officer for their private equity spinout and as executive vice president of their Asian-focused distressed debt and real estate joint venture.
At the onset of the 2008−09 financial crisis, Louis went on to serve as the chief financial officer of a well-known New York City-based private equity firm specializing in lower middle market buyout transactions. There he oversaw all aspects of fund and management company operations and played a leading role in actively working with the portfolio companies, implementing a comprehensive vendor procurement program across the portfolio. During his six-year tenure at the firm, he also played a leading role in registering the firm as a registered investment advisor and subsequently filled the role of chief compliance officer alongside his CFO responsibilities.
In 2015, Louis became a managing director for an early-stage private equity fund administration firm that was founded and led by former private equity CFOs. After two years, the firm was sold to a leading multinational fund administration and corporate service provider, where Louis eventually secured the position of head of private equity for North America. In that capacity, he led a team of over 50 professionals, overseeing the firm's U.S.-based private equity fund administration business.
Louis thrives on the entrepreneurial nature of his RSM role and is particularly passionate about having the opportunity to build and co-lead a team of dynamic, market-leading professionals. In his personal time, he enjoys nothing more than spending time with his family or partaking in an occasional round of golf or other sporting event.
